David Wilson

David Wilson joined Ferghana in 2025 as an advisor to the firm and to its clients with respect to Diagnostics and Tools to augment their knowledge and evaluative skills, especially in commercialization.

David started his career at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (now CRUK) as a researcher and then took up his first post in diagnostics at Boehringer Mannheim as a Product Manager, going on to work with Genzyme Diagnostics in multiple positions, up to Director of Business Development.

After a stint in an NGO that supported health technology in the Southeast of England, David set up his own consultancy Bioscience Business Resources with a focus on Diagnostics and Medical Devices. In parallel, he was Vice President- Commercial Operations at Molecular Detection and Practice Leader Diagnostics at Alacrita consultancy. David joined Asuragen to lead its International Strategy and Sales of genetic and molecular diagnostics. He later served on the Board of Linear Diagnostics for seven years, assisting that company with its Point of Care device to detect rapidly pathogens in primary care settings.

More recently, David was Chief Commercial Officer – Diagnostics at Avacta until that activity was sold. David now maintains a role as a Director at Imspex and again at Linear Diagnostics whilst fulfilling assignments as Senior Consultant at the George James Ltd consultancy.

David earned an MBA at Open University Business School and a BSC (Honors) Biochemistry with Microbiology at University of St. Andrews.
