Ron provides insight into transaction functions, for many therapeutic areas in which Ferghana is active. He has deep academic and professional experience in orthopedics, ortho-biologics, regenerative medicine, cell & gene therapy, immunology and drug development. In addition to his medical background, Ron worked for a number of years at global banks, such as Citigroup and Deutsche Bank, as well as the healthcare boutique, Leerink Partners. For nearly a decade, Ron led Business Development at Pacira BioSciences with responsibility for strategy, partnering, acquisitions, competitive intelligence and new product planning for its acute post-surgical and chronic musculoskeletal pain management franchises. During that time, Pacira made strategic investments in private companies for which Ron sat on the Boards of TELA Bio, Spine Biopharma, GQ Biotherapeutics, Genascence and Carthronix.
Ron received his BS in Biology and his MBA (Summa Cum Laude) from St. Joseph’s University and then went on to get a degree as Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ron rounded off his academic activities as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Wyeth Labs and at the University of Pennsylvania in its Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
