Senior Transaction Advisor

Ulrich S. Koch joined FPG in 2020 and is responsible for transaction execution and support across Ferghana’s corporate partnering projects with a specific focus on Europe and other ex-US territories.

Ulrich has over 3 decades experience in the Pharmaceutical industry with responsibilities in Strategic Planning, Sales, Marketing and Business Development & Licensing within Schering AG and Bayer. As Vice President, Negotiations within Bayer’s global business development organization, Ulrich was responsible for the management of partnering projects and for the negotiation of term sheets and contracts. Prior to this role, Ulrich was responsible for Bayer’s deal-making in Emerging Markets.

As an experienced negotiator with strong marketing background Ulrich has strengths in identifying project-specific value drivers, in exploring and understanding the interests and needs of the partners, in structuring complex negotiation processes, and in finding compromise solutions agreeable to the parties involved.

Ulrich has a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Bergische University in Wuppertal, supported by a scholarship from Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. He has worked/lived in the UK and in the US and currently lives in Berlin. Ulrich is a founding Board member of the Pharma Licensing Club Germany (PLCD) and represents this pharma networking group on the European level at the IPLS (International Partnering in Lifescience Society).
